Healthy Bundles provides nutritious food to pregnant women or women with children under the age of one. We recognize that women who are pregnant or breastfeeding have higher nutrient and energy needs than most women. We provides nutritious food options to women who may not otherwise have access to these healthy foods. This program aims to ensure clients receive the necessary nutrients to feel good, have energy, to support a healthy pregnancy. The Root Cellar Food & Wellness Hub is committed to helping the youngest and arguably most vulnerable, who are children aged one and younger. Health and nutrition during the first year of life is critical. Proper nutrition and support ensures a solid and healthy foundation is provided for the rest of their lives.

If you are pregnant, or are breastfeeding you will receive milk and if you are formula feeding, you will receive formula, not milk. When available, diapers, iron fortified infant cereal and age appropriate baby foods will be included in your healthy bundle.  Healthy Bundles mom’s, while pregnant or nursing will have access to eggs, milk, juice and fresh vegetables once a week and regular groceries every second week if needed.

To access the program if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have a baby one year of age or younger, please contact our intake advisor at intake@mhfoodbank.com or 403-528-4313 ext.1. We welcome community referrals. This program is currently by appointment only due to COVID-19 considerations.
