I was born and raised in Medicine Hat and have lived here for most of my life; I lived in Calgary as a young adult, having moved there for post secondary education. As a young family, we moved back to Medicine Hat as we felt it was a great place to raise a family. I started my career with RBC in Calgary and over the years I have held various roles in the bank, currently I am a Financial Advisor.  I have a degree in Business Administration and a Financial Planning designation.

Over the years I have volunteered for many school and sports activities in various capacities, as well as with many local charities. I am a former member, Past President and Past Zone Kinette Coordinator with the Medicine Hat Kinette Club. From 2017 to 2020 I served as a Board Member for the Medicine Hat Public Library.

I strongly believe in giving back to the community that has given so much to my family and to me.  I am looking forward to working with the Food Bank and very excited for the opportunity to be out in the community and working to ensure everyone  can take advantage of the good life in Medicine Hat.

My name is Melissa Earl I am currently the owner/operator of SpeedPro Signs Medicine Hat and partner in Little Pickers waste management and crane services. I was raised in Medicine Hat and have always had a passion for making this community better both personally and professionally. I started my working career achieving a Red Seal in Cabinet Making at SAIT Polytechnic. My career in construction spanned 8 years before moving into the Sign Industry. Quickly I realized I had a passion for marketing, brand awareness and signs. I could use all of my skills from cabinet making to create a quality product that people would love to own, while being able to grow creatively.  After 6 years in the sign industry it was time to take the leap into ownership. Since then our location has become a staple in the sign industry, bringing more manufacturing to Medicine Hat with new innovations and technologies.

I believe that everything starts simply with an idea. I hope to be a beneficial part of the Board of Directors for the Root Cellar, bringing new ideas, making new friendships and helping create a sustainable program that benefits the community for years to come.

Hi my name is Jim. I am a retired radio personality at CHAT 94.5 fm. I have been involved with the Food bank with the chat food drive for many years. It has been been amazing watching the food drive grow from the Telus ton of food to what chat food drive has become. To see the needs of the food bank and its ever increasing changes to where it is today as the root cellar is incredibly eye opening. what the root cellar has become thanks to the community support and a lot of hard work from volunteers and staff we have made Medicine Hat a community that really cares.
