Are you needing temporary food assistance? We've got you covered. We believe everyone should have access to nutritious and sustainable food. Here in Medicine Hat we strive to make receiving assistance as easy and as stress free as possible. In just a few easy steps you can be feeling more confident and can direct your focus back onto other important things. Our goal is to make sure that you leave with a smile on your face and a feeling that we understand.

How to Apply

We ask that you call and book an appointment to meet with Member Services. During this call you will be asked to bring the following information to that appointment with you.

  • identification for yourself (if available)

  • identification for each member of the household (or document with names)

  • copy of two months bank statements

  • document with proof of address


We require this information to verify that you are a resident of our area and also to ensure that you receive the support you and your family need. 


Once you qualify, one of our volunteers will help you choose from a selection of fresh and canned items from our Choice Room. As well, you will be instructed on how and when you are able to book future appointments, if required.


Where to Call

Please call and book your appointment time during regular office hours. The best time to call Member Services is during the morning, as they are busy with appointments during the afternoon. If you do not reach someone please leave a message as all messages will be returned within 24 hours, during regular office hours.

Due to Covid-19 our office hours have changed. We are still open and operating but it is by appointments only. We offer a drive thru service and for those that do not have a vehicle to access this service we offer a delivery. Our delivery is limited due to being delivered by volunteers. Please call to book your appointment.

CLOSED for holidays so be sure to work that into your appointment times.
