What is Canstruction?
Canstruction is an international hunger relief charity that raises millions of pounds of food each year for local food banks. Every year, Canstruction chapters have competitions citywide where teams create CanArt® to compete for awards in the following categories: Best Meal, Structural Ingenuity, Best Original Design, Most Cans, Best Use of Labels, and People’s Choice awards. Winners from each local competition then go on to compete internationally in these categories.

What is the Cost?
The remaining cost to team is for the cans of food to build the structure. There is a tax receipt available for that. We have some great local grocery stores who are willing to offer discounted prices for cans purchased. As well you could raise funds through cash drives, food drives, or we can work with you to find sponsorship.
How many People Can build at once?
Only 5 people can handle cans at one time, during the build day. But you do have the option to swap people out through out the day.
How much time does it take?
Not at all!!! Design teams can meet as often as they want. You can source out materials on a regular trip to the grocery store. The build day is just one full day. Some teams do decided to do a dry run prior to build day.
Can i get a tax Receipt?
Keep all receipt for the food that is purchased for this event. Submit it to a canstruction representative on build day. The Root Cellar will then send you our a receipt.
