Cameron Jacques

Chair of the Board

For the past 18 years Cam has been the General Manager of The Medicine Hat Golf & CC. Cam and his wife Susan and their two children have called Medicine Hat their home for almost 20 years. He has served on numerous non profit boards in our city and is the past president of The United Way of SE Alberta and The Medicine Hat Minor Hockey Association. Cam has served on The Medicine Hat & District Food Bank for the past 5 years and have been the Chair for the past and current term.

Carla Carrier

Vice Chair of the Board

Carla is currently the Vice Principal at Dr. Ken Sauer School. Carla has worked as a teacher for 20 years and has experience working in both the Calgary Board of Education and Medicine Hat Public School Division. Carla has a broad background in education with experiences in elementary, middle school, high school and central office. Carla has specific experience in working with students with special needs, at-risk students and their families. She believes strongly in inclusive education practices and connecting and supporting students and their families through multi-disciplinary teams, wrap-around services and system navigation.

 

Carla formerly sat on the South East Regional Collaborative Service Delivery Leadership Table. Carla is strong advocate of developing the whole child through a collaborative approach in order to build lagging skills and ensure timely support and service. Carla believes strongly in community and service learning and is excited to bring her skill set and understanding of children and families, system navigation and service delivery to the Medicine Hat and District Food Bank. Carla studied at the University of Calgary for her undergrad degree and completed her Master of Education at the University of Lethbridge.

Steve St. Peter

Past Chair of the Board

Steven is a lifelong resident of Medicine Hat, that comes from a family of bankers. His father has been in banking for over 35 years and his mother is a Senior Financial Advisor with ATB Investment Services. As a Private Client Advisor for Alberta Private Client, Steven is driven to support his clients in achieving their most meaningful outcomes.

Steven has demonstrated a passion for assisting clients and an excellence in his craft, joining Alberta Private Client after nine years with ATB as a Branch Manager in Southern Alberta communities, including Brooks, Bow Island, Foremost and Medicine Hat. He is a FICB (Fellow, Institute of Canadian Bankers), a prestigious fellowship granted to individuals who complete a robust professional banking program.

Steven is, in his words, “all about people”. Steven finds the opportunity to interact with people and build relationships very rewarding. It’s no surprise to learn that his family, his wife Jen and two young daughters, are his top priority in life followed closely by a passion for community service. He’s held a number of leadership roles for Southern Alberta charitable organizations over the years. Steven has been on this board since September 2013 and has a strong sense of commitment and passion to our organization. He cares deeply for the meaningful services that the Medicine Hat and District Food Bank brings to our community and the people and organizations that make it all possible.

Steven is also an avid sports fan. Each year marks a new trip with a group of fellow sports fans and close friends to a new destination and a new major league sporting event. ​

Scott Milroy

Treasurer

Scott was raised and educated in Medicine Hat. He attended Medicine Hat College before going to the University of Lethbridge to finish his Bachelor of Management with a Major in Accounting. After university, Scott returned to Medicine Hat to article for a predecessor firm of Schwab & Co.

 

Scott completed the Chartered Accountant program and finished his experience requirements here in Medicine Hat before moving to Calgary in 1996. There he met the love of his life, Jennifer and married her. They now have two daughters.

 

In 2008 Scott decided to return to Medicine Hat before his oldest daughter started school, so that the transition would be easier. Since moving back Scott has become a partner in the same firm he worked in after University, Schwab & Co.

 

Part of Scott’s passion is to be involved in the community and so he has been serving on the Board of Directors of the Food Bank since 2011.

Brooke Hawker

Secretary

Brooke Hawker is the owner of Evoke Inspired Marketing, a growing marketing firm in Medicine Hat. She has a passion for business, branding, drag racing, the community and, of course, food!
Brooke's love for food goes far beyond gourmet treats; she was raised to believe that our bodies need food to fuel our successes and that everyone deserves the right to proper nutrition. Brooke is honored to use her connection in the community and marketing knowledge to serve the Medicine Hat & District Food Bank in its mission to create food sustainability.

Kevin Henderson

Director of Board

As Senior Vice President, Manufacturing, Kevin is responsible for Methanex’s North American assets, as well as enhancing reliability, asset utilization and Responsible Care® across our global manufacturing operations. Mr. Henderson’s more than 40 years’ experience in the methanol industry includes manufacturing, operational management and leadership, and project leadership. Mr. Henderson is past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC).

Rob Robbenhaar

Director of Board

Robert Robbenhaar is a Criminal Defence Lawyer and has been exclusively practicing Criminal Law for the past 20 years. Robert obtained his Honors Bachelor of Arts Degree from Lakehead University and obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Wales. Robert is also the owner of Robbenhaar Law.

Lance Doll

Director of Board

Lance is the mid-day host and music director for Today's Country CHAT 94.5 FM. He's a graduate of the Radio, Television, and Broadcast News program at SAIT in Calgary, AB, and got his start in radio in Brooks, AB.

 

Before radio, Lance took 2 years of school at the Medicine Hat College towards a teaching degree. He also worked as a server & bartender for Moxie's Grill & Bar, earning an opportunity to become a Quality Service Leader in Edmonton, AB. Being a QSL, Lance was invited to be a member of the training team for the newly-renovated Moxie's Kingsway in Edmonton.
