Purpose:

The purpose of the Medicine Hat and District Food Bank (1992) Association is to address food insecurity by distributing food, free of charge, to those deemed in need of temporary assistance in the City of Medicine Hat and the County of Cypress.


Mission:
The Medicine Hat and District Food Bank (1992) Association believes that hunger exists in the community and that the community has a responsibility to address this food insecurity in a manner ensuring that availability, accessibility and adequacy of food.

We believe in:

All people seeking our help should be treated with compassion, dignity and understanding. They deserve the highest quality foods that are possible for us to provide. We have found that the best way to meet hunger needs is in collaboration with others who share our common purpose. That is why working with other agencies in our community is so important. The spirit of volunteerism is our strength and our primary resources and we are so proud of all of our volunteers that give of their time. We are accountable to our community and donors for the programs and services that we deliver which reflect the needs in the community.
